Hi friends! I’m excited to be back today to share several projects made with the Floral Reflection Collection from Spellbinders. This collection is full of beautiful florals and classic shapes perfect for Valentine’s Day and everyday cards! I created four pretty cards with the collection in bright springtime colors for a variety of occasions.
FLORAL BIRTHDAY CARD
The Floral Reflection Die Set creates such a stunning focal point, I had to pull this set out first. I started by cutting the flowers and stems out of various shades of pink, purple, white, and green and layered them up with touches of gold using liquid glue. The sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock using the Faux Wax Seal Stamp & Die Set and cut out with the small circle die from the Floral Reflection Die Set.
I trimmed a piece of Pink Sand Cardstock to 4.125 x 5.375″ and embossed it with the Tile Reflection 3D Embossing Folder before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. Then I cut Wild Berry Cardstock using the largest die from the Essential Floral Reflection Die Set, popped it up on top of the card base with foam adhesive, and added the floral branches on top with liquid glue.
FLORAL HEART LOVE CARD
Next, I wanted to color the gorgeous image from the Glimmering Just For You Foil Plate & Die Set. I used the foil plate set to apply Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock and colored the image in with my Copic markers. Then I cut the flowers and sentiment out using the coordinating dies.
To create the simple background, I trimmed a piece of Island Blue Cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″ and embossed it with the Tile Reflection 3D Embossing Folder before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. Then I cut Pink Sand Cardstock using the largest die from the Essential Hearts Die Set, blended a little Worn Lipstick Distress Ink around the edges, and added it to the card front with foam adhesive. To finish the card, I popped the image and sentiment up on top with more foam adhesive.
FLORAL MINI SLIMLINE CARD
I thought it would be fun to break out my wax seals again and use them with the pretty sprigs in the Sealed Wildflowers Die Set next. After cutting the simple floral stems from green, pink, and white cardstock, I assembled them quickly with liquid glue. Then I created a pretty wax seal using the wax stamp from the Wax Seal Starter Kit with some Pastel Pink Wax Beads, and coloring the raised areas with a gold metallic marker.
For the background, I cut a piece of white cardstock using the largest die from the Precision Layering Mini Slimline A Die Set, blended Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina Distress Ink over the bottom two-thirds of the panel, and embossed it using the Flower Frenzy 3D Embossing Folder. To bring out the design a bit more, I rubbed a white pigment pad over the raised parts lightly and then matted it with Mirror Gold Cardstock before wrapping a few twists of gold twine around it and adhering it to a top-folding white card base measuring 3.5″ x 6.5″. Once the sprigs were adhered to the front of the card, I added the wax seal and some Gold Mix Gems.
FOILED FLORAL HEART CARD
This next card was fun because it used some of my scraps from one of the previous cards. I saved the leftover foil from when I had used the Glimmering Just For You Foil Plate & Die Set, and applied it to white cardstock using the Glimmer Essential Solid Heart Plate. After trimming down the panel to about 3.25″ wide, I cut the bottom edge with one of the dies from the Winter Borders Die Set.
I trimmed a piece of Purple Mist Cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and embossed it using the Flower Frenzy 3D Embossing Folder before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. Then I tied a quick bow around my foiled panel using gold ribbon and popped it up on top with foam adhesive. A few Crystal Mix Gems and a foiled sentiment from the Glimmering Just For You Foil Plate & Die Set finish off this simple and pretty card.
