Happy New Year friends! I hope 2023 is off to a great start for you! It’s reveal day for the January 2023 Club Kits from Spellbinders and there are some gorgeous floral designs this month! We are also introducing some new clubs with the new year, so today I’m sharing seven card projects featuring the Large Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, Glimmer Kit of the Month, Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, Embossing Folder of the Month, 3D Embossing Folder of the Month (NEW!), Stitching Die of the Month (NEW!), and Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kits.
LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Club Blooms“, is a massive set of 23 dies that can be used to create tons of different flowers, leaves, sprigs, and more perfect for building bouquets or accents. I created a bright and cheery birthday card with a large bouquet as the focal image and pretty gold accents.
I cut the many different flowers and leaves from the kit out of shades of pink, orange, teal, and green and assembled them with liquid glue. Then I trimmd a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″, embossed it using this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive. After adhering the bouquet to the front of the card, I added a pretty sentiment strip cut from Mirror Gold Cardstock using this month’s Small Die of the Month.
SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Small Die of the Month Kit, “Sentimental Ampersand“, is another beautiful set with tons of versatile sentiments and bitty floral accents. The kit contains a whopping 20 cutting dies that allow you to cut a gorgeous layered ampersand, pretty little flowers and leaves, and six beautiful sentiment banners. You can use the ampersand to join two of the sentiment banners like I did here, but how beautiful would this be for a wedding card too?!
I started by trimming a piece of white cardstock to 4.125″ x 5.375″, embossed it with this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month, and this time added the debossed side to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive. Then I cut the ampersand from the kit out of Mirror Gold Cardstock and added a layer of Cosmic Sky Cardstock behind it for a soft shadow. To finish the card off, I added the floral accents and sentiments cut from shades of pink, purple, and teal cardstocks.
GLIMMER KIT OF THE MONTH
This month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month, “Flower Delivery” contains 5 Glimmer plates along with 5 coordinating dies that can be used to foil a fun little car, pretty floral spray, and several gorgeous tiny sentiments and cut all of the elements out. I topped the little car with bouquet from the kit and added a couple of sentiments for this simple and sweet friendship card.
I started by applying Moondust and Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using the car, flower, and sentiment dies from the kit as well as an extra sentiment from the Birthday Unboxing Glimmer Plate Set. After coloring the flowers in with Copic markers, I cut all of the elements out using the coordinating dies and arranged them on top of a card front made by embossing Purple Mist Cardstock with this month’s 3D Embossing Folder of the Month (NEW!).
CLEAR STAMP & DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
This month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit is another gorgeous floral design! “Hydrangea Bouquet” is a set of 5 stamps that contains two different floral images and three beautiful sentiments. If your subscription includes the coordinating dies, you’ll also get 3 dies to cut the images and one of the sentiments out. I stamped the large bouquet image onto white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers before cutting it out with the coordinating die to create this pretty focal image.
For the background, I trimmed a piece of Pink Sand Cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and embossed it with this month’s 3D Embossing Folder of the Month before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. Then I popped the image and sentiment up on top of the card front and added a few Crystal Mix Gems to embellish.
3D EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH (NEW KIT!)
And how about the brand new 3D Embossing Folder of the Month that is debuting this month?! You’ve already seen the “Floral Archway” folder several times because it is such a gorgeous design with so much detail! I created a really simple friendship card with it because I thought the design really just spoke for itself.
I started by trimming some Fruit Punch Cardstock to 4.125″ x 5.375″ and heat-embossing a sentiment from the Sentimental Greetings Stamp Set in white in the center. Then I dry-embossed the panel using the Floral Archway 3D Embossing Folder and rubbed a white pigment ink pad over the raised areas to bring out the design more. Once dry, I adhered the panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive and added a few Pink Opalescent Sequins to embellish.
STITCHING DIE OF THE MONTH (NEW KIT!)
Are you ready for another brand new kit this month? The Stitching Die of the Month was requested by many fans of the Spellbinders Club Kits and it is finally a reality! This month’s kit, “Nested Stitch Burst“, is a set of 5 dies that creates a beautiful layered background for stitching (or not!). Spellbinders is also releasing an add-on stamp set this month, “Sentimental Greetings“, with tons of beautiful sentiments that fit perfectly in the center of one of the smallest dies in the kit.
I cut Wild Berry Cardstock using the largest die in the kit, Pink Sand Cardstock using the next two largest dies in the kit, and stamped a sentiment from the Sentimental Greetings Stamp Set in pink ink before cutting it out with the second smallest die in the kit. Then I stitched the panels using variegated pink thread and gold metallic thread before layering them up on top of a white card base. To finish the card off, I added some Gold Mix Gems.
EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH
Lastly, this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month, “Stylized Trellis“, is the perfect subtle background for all of the pretty floral cards I’ve shown today (and I have used it for several already!). I embossed a panel of Waterfall Cardstock using the Stylized Trellis folder for this simple thank you card.
I wanted the embossed background to be the star of this easy card, so I added a stitched star panel made with the Stitching Die of the Month and some teal thread and embossed a sentiment from the Sentimental Greetings Stamp Set in gold onto the smaller panel. To embellish, I added a few small flowers from this month’s Large Die of the Month.
