Happy Friday friends! I’m thrilled to be back today to share a couple of projects made with the brand new Four Petal Collection from Spellbinders. (Check out the entire February release here!) This collection is full of gorgeous floral-themed dies, stamps, Glimmer Plates, and stencils perfect for springtime and everyday cards! I created five bright floral cards with the collection for various occasions.
FLORAL THANK YOU CARD
My favorite die set in the collection is the Four Petal Thank You Floral Die Set, so I started with this one first. After cutting the gorgeous floral bunch out of various shades of orange, pink, green, and white, I added a little shading with Carved Pumpkin, Picked Raspberry, and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks. I then assembled the bouquet on top of the branch that I had cut from Dune Cardstock three times to ensure a nice thick base. Flower centers and the sentiment from the set were cut from Mirror Gold Cardstock.
To create the background, I trimmed a piece of Cosmic Sky Cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″, embossed it with the Four Petal 3D Embossing Folder, matted it with Mirror Gold Cardstock, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. Then I cut white cardstock using one of the dies from the Essential Four Petal Labels Die Set and blended Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink up from one corner before adhering the bouquet and sentiment on top with liquid glue.
PUNCHED & PIERCED RAINBOW CARD
I loved the beautifully-detailed pattern created by the Scrolled Punch & Pierce Plate Die and thought it would look great over top of a bright rainbow background. I started by applying Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink over a piece of white cardstock trimmed to slightly smaller than 4.25″ x 5.5″. Then I cut white cardstock using the Scrolled Punch & Pierce Plate Die and adhered the outermost border directly to the inked panel with liquid glue.
I wanted a bit more of the rainbow to show through on the card, so I cut the middle layer with one of the Essential Four Petal Labels Dies to make it slightly smaller (I LOVE how everything works together in this collection!) and adhered it down to the inked panel with liquid glue. Then I popped up the center die-cut with foam adhesive for a little variation.
The sentiment was cut from Mirror Gold Cardstock using one of the greetings in the Thanks Enclosed Sentiments Die Set and added to the center panel with liquid glue. To embellish, I cut some flowers and leaves from Pink Sand, Mirror Gold, and Rainforest Cardstock using the Four Petal Thank You Floral Die Set and added them to the corners of the card front.
PETAL REFLECTION LOVE CARD
I really love all of the new “reflection” die sets that Spellbinders has been releasing lately because you can easily fill a card front with tons of florals using them or just add one as a border element. Here I cut various shades of purple, pink, aqua, white, and green cardstock using the Four Petal Bloom Reflection Die Set and assembled two floral bunches on top of a white background cut using one of the dies from the Essential Four Petal Labels Die Set.
I trimmed a piece of Royal Amethyst Cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and embossed it with the Floral Frenzy 3D Embossing Folder (I’ve been using this folder SO much!) before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. After popping the floral panel up on top of the card front with foam adhesive, I added a sentiment cut from white and Mirror Gold Cardstock using the Thanks Enclosed Sentiments Die Set.
EMBOSSED FRAME LOVE CARD
I couldn’t get over how gorgeous the Four Petal Floral 3D Embossing Folder was, so I wanted to use it again on a card where it could really shine as the focal point. I started by trimming a piece of white cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and blending Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo, and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink over the panel to form an ombre background. After embossing the inked panel with the Four Petal Floral 3D Embossing Folder, I lightly rubbed a white pigment ink pad over the raised areas to bring the design out a bit more.
For the sentiment, I applied Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using one of the plates from the All-Occasion Mailbox Greetings Glimmer Plates Set (the sentiments from the Parcel & Post Collection all fit great within the Four Petal label shapes!) and cut it out using one of the Essential Four Petal Labels Dies. To finish off the card, I added some flowers and leaves cut using the Four Petal Bloom Reflection and Four Petal Thank You Floral Die Sets and a spray of Gold Mix Gems.
WONDERFUL TULIPS CARD
Lastly, the big, beautiful floral image in the Wonderful Tulips Glimmer Plate Set was just begging to be put on a clean and simple card. I started by applying Pewter Hot Foil to white cardstock using the image and sentiment from the set and then added lots of color quickly and easily to the image thanks to the coordinating Wonderful Tulips Layered Stencils and various Distress Inks. Once complete, I cut everything out with the coordinating dies (included).
For the background, I trimmed a piece of Waterfall Cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″, embossed it using the Dimensional Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. After popping the image and sentiment up on top of the card with foam adhesive, I added a few Crystal Mix Gems to embellish.
