Hello again friends! I’m excited to share a few projects today made with the new Pressed Posies Collection from Spellbinders (you can check out the entire January release here…lots of fun stuff this month!) This collection is full of gorgeous new floral designs in BetterPress plates, stencils, and even a wax seal stamp. I created a couple of easy cards for various occasions using some of the items from the collection perfect for the upcoming season and holidays.
BEAUTIFUL BOUQUET CARD
I thought the image in the A Friend Like You Bouquet Press Plate Set was so gorgeous, I sat down to play with this one first. After pressing the image and sentiment onto some Porcelain Cotton Cardstock using Black BetterPress Ink, I colored the image in using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.
To make the image pop a bit, I added a blue border around all of its edges with a light blue brush pen, then splattered some diluted blue and black ink over part of the panel. Since the image was so beautiful, I kept the card simple and added a mat out of Onyx Cardstock before adhering it all to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.
BRIGHT LETTERPRESS THANK YOU CARD
I love the florals in this collection, but if I had to choose one thing to add to my stash, it would be the You Are Everything BetterPress Plates & Die Set. It includes twelve really beautiful and unique sentiments for almost every occasion on one plate that you can ink in one pass and cut out altogether in another. I created a panel of sentiments using Black BetterPress Ink on Porcelain Cotton Cardstock and used just one on this bright card…and now I have eleven more ready to go for future projects!
The background was created by inking a piece of Porcelain Cotton Cardstock with Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin, and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink (I kinda thought it resembled a sunrise) and pressing it with the Kaleidoscope Garden Press Plate using Strawberry BetterPress Ink. The panel was matted with Onyx Cardstock before adhering it to a white card base, then just the sentiment and a few Onyx Mix Gems were added to complete the card.
SIMPLE FOILED VALENTINE
Lastly, I wanted to share a quick card I made with leftovers from a recent blog post I wrote for the Spellbinders blog. I had foiled the new Cosmos Backdrop Press Plate onto white cardstock to color in for a background, and noticed how beautiful the leftover foil was…so I applied it onto Mirror Red Cardstock using the Glimmer Essential Solid Heart Plate for a quick and easy Valentine!
I had also foiled the sentiments from the You Are Everything Sentiments BetterPress Plate & Die Set onto white cardstock using gold hot foil for my other cards, so had plenty of extra greetings to choose from for this card. After matting the background with Mirror Gold Cardstock, I simply added the sentiment below the heart and embellished with a few Gold Mix Gems.
