Hello again friends! The April 2024 Club Kits from Spellbinders have been revealed and there are tons of fun and unique stitching-themed designs this month! Today I’m sharing nine card projects featuring the Large Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, Stitching Die of the Month, Glimmer Kit of the Month, Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, Embossing Folder of the Month, 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kits, and the Stencil of the Month Kit! (I’ll be sure to update this post when my BetterPress of the Month Kit arrives!)

LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Pins & Needles Jar“, is a huge set of 14 dies that can be used to build a fun sewing jar full of tons of sewing and stitching-related accessories! I used most of the dies in the set to make this simple encouragement card with a touch of a country feel, but you can use the jar and accessory dies separately for even more options.
After cutting all of the stitching accessories out (how amazing are those scissors?!), I inked them with Distress Inks to shade and assembled them with liquid glue. The jar was cut out of Glacier Cardstock and inked around the edges to give it some “roundness”, then topped with a lid cut from Mirror Silver Cardstock and some pretty patterned paper from the Spring Garden Paper Pad. To create the background, I distressed another piece of paper from the same paper pad, matted it with Alabaster Cardstock, and mounted it all on a top-folding 5″ x 7″ white card base.
SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Small Die of the Month Kit, “Faux Stitched Sentiments & Floss“, is another great one for stitching enthusiasts. The kit contains 9 cutting dies that allow you to cut a layered skein of embroidery floss as well as four large sentiments with faux-stitching detail. I cut my floss out of bright spring colors for this fun hello card!
After assembling two layered skeins of each color, I created this fun background pattern on top of some white cardstock that was embossed with this month’s 3D Embossing Folder of the Month. To complete the card, I cut one of the sentiments from the kit out of white and Mirror Gold Cardstock and popped the layered die-cut up on top of a piece of vellum that I had cut using one of the Mirrored Arch Labels Dies.
STITCHING DIE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Stitching Die of the Month continues with the beautiful stitching theme of course! “Stitched Wall Hanging“, is a set of 18 dies that cuts beautiful flowers and leaves that you can stitch as well as fun embroidery hoop backdrop and additional branches and buds. I cut all of the floral elements from white cardstock, shaded them with Distress Oxide Inks, and then stitched everything up with gold metallic thread.
The background was created by embossing a piece of Dune Cardstock with this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month. After cutting the hoop out of white, Waterfall, and Mirror Gold Cardstock, I added it to the front of the card with foam adhesive before popping the floral elements up on top with more foam adhesive. To finish off the card, I added a sentiment from the kit cut from Mirror Gold Cardstock as well as some Gold Mix Gems to the flower centers.
CLEAR STAMP & DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
And what’s a stitching theme without tons of cute sentiments to support it? This month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, “Happy Stitching” is a set of 16 stamps with two large “stitched’ sentiments as well as two images and about a dozen smaller or sub-sentiments. If your subscription includes the coordinating dies, you’ll also get 7 dies to cut out the larger sentiments and some of the other sentiments as well. I stamped the stitched heart image from the kit onto white cardstock in rainbow colors before cutting them out using the coordinating dies to create this cute “Sending Happy Thoughts” card.
Each part of the sentiment was stamped in black ink and cut out before adding shadows cut from Onyx Cardstock (using the coordinating dies) to all of the stamped images and sentiments. To create the background, I embossed white cardstock with this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month, matted it with Onyx Cardstock, and adhered it to a top-folding 4.25″ square white card base. I love this simple and happy little cardlet!
GLIMMER KIT OF THE MONTH
This month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month, “Sew Amazing” contains 10 Glimmer plates that can be used to foil a bunch of stitched borders as well as four sweet sentiments and a coordinating banner die. I applied Silver, Skybright, Teal, Cobalt, and Fuchsia Flower Hot Foil to white cardstock using five of the stitch border images from the kit for this easy thank you card.
Once foiled, I trimmed the panel down to 4″ x 5.25″ and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive before adding a sentiment cut from Mirror Silver Cardstock (colored with Copic markers to match the other foiling) using this month’s Small Die of the Month Kit. To finish off the card, I foiled one of the sub-sentiments from the kit using Cobalt Hot Foil and cut it out with the coordinating die before adding it to the top corner with foam adhesive.
EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH
And here is this month’s beautiful Embossing Folder of the Month, “Faux Stitched Petal“. It embosses a subtle floral pattern that is super versatile and perfect for just about any kind of card. I embossed a piece of white cardstock using the folder and matted it with Mirror Silver Cardstock for this simple and pretty thank you card.
The sentiment was cut from Mirror Silver Cardstock using this month’s Small Die of the Month and stacked three times before adhering it to the card front with liquid glue. Then I just framed it with a couple more flowers cut using this month’s Stitching Die of the Month, shaded with Distress Oxide Inks, and stitched with silver metallic thread. Flower centers were embellished with Crystal Mix Gems.
3D EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH
This month’s 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, “One Stitch at a Time” is a really unique needle and thread pattern that is elegant and fun and perfect for all of your stitching-themed cards. I blended Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink down a piece of white cardstock before embossing it with this month’s folder. After rubbing a gold metallic ink pad over just the very top of the design to bring out the needles more, I matted it with Onyx Cardstock and mounted it on a top-folding A2-sized white card base.
The needle and bobbin were cut from white, Onyx, and Mirror Gold Cardstock using some of the accessory dies from this month’s Large Die of the Month. After popping them up on the front of the card, I added two sentiments stamped in black ink using this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month.
BETTERPRESS OF THE MONTH
This month’s BetterPress of the Month Kit, “Stitched For You“, contains 7 press plates that create some beautiful images and a couple of sweet sentiments as well as three dies to cut the images out. I haven’t received my plates yet, but will post a card sample in this post here as soon as I am able!
STENCIL OF THE MONTH
This month’s Stencil of the Month, “Rainbow Floss Background” is a set of 5 layering stencils that creates a fun floss background perfect for stitching enthusiasts. I used the stencils to apply Distress Oxide and gold metallic inks to Dune Cardstock for this simple and bright thank you card.
The sentiment was cut out of Mirror Gold and Onyx Cardstock using this month’s Small Die of the Month while the sub-sentiment was cut out of the same cardstocks using this month’s bonus item for Deluxe Caboodle Club Members – “Pins & Needles Sentiments Die Set“. After layering them, I adhered them directly onto the card front with liquid glue.
WAX SEAL OF THE MONTH
Lastly, here is a look at this month’s Wax Seal of the Month Kit. The “Cross Stitch Heart” Wax Seal Kit contains one pretty wax seal stamp as well as a bag of coordinating waxbeads. My kit came with Cloudy Sky Wax Beads, so I melted them before pressing it with the stamp to create this pretty seal. To bring out the design more, I added silver metallic marker to the raised design of the seal.
I added the wax seal on top of some silver metallic cord wrapped around a panel embossed with this month’s 3D Embossing Folder of the Month and a few stitching items from this month’s Large Die of the Month. To finish off the card, I added a sweet sentiment from this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month.
