Spellbinders August 2021 Club Kits

Happy first day of August friends!  It’s reveal day for the August Club Kits from Spellbinders and I think you are going to love the beautiful and versatile designs this month.  Today I’m sharing three pretty geometric cards made with the Large Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, and Clear Stamp of the Month Kits because they all coordinate so beautifully again.

LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH KIT

This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Hex Kaleidoscope Slimline“, is a huge set of 5 dies that can be used to cut multiple layers for intricate and beautiful slimline cards.  I used pretty colors reminiscent of the beach to create a fun floral slimline card perfect for sending a summertime thank you.

You really are the one to decide how much detail you want to add with these kaleidoscope card dies…that’s the fun!  After cutting the background pattern out of white cardstock, I layered it over some darker kraft cardstock before adding a few aqua diamonds back in for a little added color.  The kaleidoscope inserts were cut from aqua and kraft cardstock as well and layered up on top of the card base with liquid glue.

Once the card base had been assembled, I added a sentiment stamped in Warm Breeze Ink using the Essential Sentiments Stamp Set and embellished it with flowers cut using the Mini Blooms and Sprigs Die Set as well as a few Crystal Mix Gems.

SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH KIT

For even more fun hexagon options, this month’s Small Die of the Month Kit creates a beautiful ornate card front that needs little embellishment to wow your recipient and works for a variety of occasions.  I used mine with some bright reds and golds along with a foiled sentiment to send a bold congrats.

I cut the main background pattern out of Mirror Gold Cardstock using the frame die from this month’s “Hex Kaleidoscope Tile Die Set” three times and covered a Pomegranate panel with it using liquid glue before trimming off any excess.  Then I used Poppy Field, Mirror Gold, and Barely Peach Cardstock to create the kaleidoscope inserts.

I then applied Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using a sentiment from the Mini Everyday Sentiments Plate Set and my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine before cutting it out with the coordinating die and adding it to the center of the card front with foam adhesive.  To finish the card off, I added a ton of Gold Mix Gems.

CLEAR STAMP OF THE MONTH KIT

If geometric cards aren’t your style, there are definitely ways to use this month’s kits for softer results!  I trimmed a piece cut with the background die from the Large Die of the Month Kit and paired it with some of the gorgeous floral images in this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit for this pretty A2-sized friendship card.

I stamped the outline images from the Clear Stamp of the Month Kit onto two corners of a kraft cardstock panel with Versamark Ink, added white embossing powder, and melted it with my heat tool.  Then I stamped the layers for each bloom over top using Milled Lavender, Wilted Violet, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink for a soft, matte look.

After cutting white cardstock using the background die from the Large Die of the Month Kit, I trimmed out one of the hexagons with scissors and stamped a sentiment from the Clear Stamp of the Month Kit onto it using Monarch Ink.  To finish off the card I added some details with a white gel pen and a spray of Crystal Mix Gems.
