Happy first day of February friends! It’s reveal day for the February 2022 Club Kits from Spellbinders and I think you are going to love all of the gorgeous designs this month. Today I’m sharing ten card projects featuring the Large Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, Glimmer Kit of the Month, Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, Embossing Folder of the Month, Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month, Card Kit of the Month, and Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kits.
LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Typing Class“, is a huge set of 22 dies that can be used to cut a cute typewriter, several sentiments, and a big bouquet of leaves and flowers. I used most of the dies included in the kit to create this 5″ x 7″ card perfect for celebrating a springtime birthday.
I started by die cutting Pink Sand, white, Graphite, and Mirror Silver Cardstock to create the main typewriter design (instructions are included for assembly and it is a cinch!). Then I added leaves and flowers behind it cut from Rainforest, Fern, white, Purple Mist, and Lilac Blossom Cardstock.
To create the background, I trimmed a piece of Waterfall Cardstock to 4.75″ x 6.75″ and embossed it with the latest Embossing Folder of the Month before adhering it to a top-folding A7-sized white card base. After adding a small strip of Silver Fox Cardstock to the bottom, I popped the typewriter and flowers up on top and added Silver Mix Gems and Dandelion Yellow Crystal Drops to embellish.
SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
If you love stitching or even just beautiful borders, then this month’s Small Die of the Month Kit is definitely for you! The “Oval Stitch & Border” Die Set contains 10 dies that allow you to cut a pretty floral stitched border or two sizes of ovals. Since dies are included to cut on either side of the stitched pattern, you can create windows, borders, toppers, etc…the possibilities are endless!
I used the larger oval set of dies to cut a window in white cardstock that was surrounded by the floral stitched pattern. After stitching the flowers with orange and red thread, I added it over a panel of Fern Cardstock that I had foiled with Matte Gold Foil using a big beautiful sentiment from the latest Glimmer Kit of the Month.
I love these bright colors for March birthdays…it reminds me of St. Patrick’s Day! To finish the card off I added a few flowers cut from Persimmon and Rainforest Cardstock using the Large Die of the Month Kit and embellished them with Gold Mix Gems.
GLIMMER KIT OF THE MONTH
And speaking of beautiful Glimmer sentiments…this month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month is full of them! “Anytime Glimmer Sentiments” contains six Glimmer plates with sentiments in beautiful fonts for occasions all year round.
I added one of the sentiments to white cardstock using the Matte Gold Foil included in this month’s kit and die cut around it with the stitched floral borders from this month’s Small Die of the Month Kit (see how beautiful they look even without stitching!). Then I popped the sentiment strip up in the center of a card front created by embossing a panel of Cosmic Sky Cardstock with this month’s Embossing Folder.
I finished the card by tucking a few flowers and leaves cut with the Large Die of the Month Kit behind the sentiment strip and adding some Gold Mix Gems.
EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH
This month’s Embossing Folder of the Month, “Sketched Floral“, is one that you’ll find yourself reaching for again and again. It’s simple and pretty design and oversized dimensions (the folder is 5.5″ x 8.5”!) make it super versatile.
I trimmed a piece of Raindrop Cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″ and embossed it with the Sketched Floral Embossing Folder before lightly adding white pigment ink with a blending tool to bring out the raised areas a bit more. Then I wrapped some organza ribbon around the center and adhered it to a top-folding A2-size white card base with foam adhesive.
After stamping a sentiment from the Card Kit of the Month onto some white cardstock with Blue Belle Versafine Clair Ink, I cut the sentiment out using the small stitched floral oval pattern from this month’s Small Die of the Month Kit. Then I added a few flowers cut with this month’s Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month.
AMAZING PAPER GRACE DIE OF THE MONTH
And here’s the rest of that beautiful new kit from Becca Feeken! “Marvelous Medallion” is a set of 13 dies that can be used to cut decorative background panels, flowers, and banners. I used the kit to cut lots of blue and white layers for this pretty birthday card.
After cutting the decorative panels from the kit, I added them over a white backdrop cut using the largest die from the Picot Petite Squares Die Set matted with some Cosmic Sky Cardstock on a 5″ square white card base.
I stamped a sentiment from the All Occasion Sentiments Stamp Set in Blue Belle Versafine Clair Ink and added it to the center of the card front. Then I added some flowers and leafy branches cut with the kit on one side and embellished the flower centers with a few Silver Mix Gems.
CLEAR STAMP & DIE OF THE MONTH KIT
And this month’s Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kit is not to be missed either! Following the same theme as this month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Old School Notes” is a beautiful set of 17 stamps with everything from that cute typewriter to several types of flowers and beautiful sentiments.
I stamped tons of the images onto white cardstock with black alcohol-friendly ink and colored them in with Copic markers before cutting them out with the coordinating dies. To create the background, I layered some of the patterned papers from the Card Kit of the Month and matted them with Onyx Cardstock before adhering them to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.
I loved the idea of the typewriter spraying out hearts and flowers along with its message, so I arranged the images on the card front like this and adhered them down with foam adhesive. Then I added a few Crystal Mix Gems for a little sparkle.
CARD KIT OF THE MONTH
Lastly, this month’s Card Kit of the Month, “Always Remember” is chock full of beautiful springtime images, sweet sentiment stamps, and a super versatile wreath and sentiment die set. I created four cards with many of the elements in the kit…above you can see the gorgeous die-cut images and some of the chipboard accents included.
I kept my cards pretty simple this month…that beautiful die set and patterned papers alone this month are worth the price of the kit in my opinion!
