Spellbinders Large Die of the Month – July 2020

Ready for another super cute and versatile die set from Spellbinders?  This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit contains all 26 letters in a sweet font (at almost 1.75″ tall each), 10 different shapes of leafy stems to follow the curves of each letter, and two different styles of blooms.  Perfect for creating personalized sentiments, the “Does Your Garden Grow Alphabet” die set is large enough for home décor projects, but small enough to be used on cards as a bold focal point.   Today I’m sharing two cards I made with this kit using the same layout, but for different occasions.

When you can spell out whatever you want, why not customize someone’s card with their name?  I thought this Parisian-inspired card would be perfect for a young girl’s birthday.  Starting with a sheet of pink striped patterned paper from the You’re My Type paper pad, I added a black mat and adhered it all to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.

After cutting the letters from the kit twice out of white and black cardstock, I offset them just a bit to form a nice shadow and adhered them together with liquid glue.  Then I added different shapes of grey leafy stems and pink blooms to each letter.  To finish the card off, I created a small sentiment box with the Everyday Sentiments II Glimmer Plate Set, silver hot foil, and my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine.

Using the same layout, I created a sympathy card as well in a soothing aqua, white, and silver color palette.  The background was created by applying Prism Hot Foil to a piece of aqua cardstock using the Flower Pattern Hot Foil Plate and my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine.  While I was at it, I added a sentiment from the same Everyday Sentiments II Glimmer Plate Set to white cardstock in the same Prism Hot Foil.

The large sentiment was created the same way as before, this time cutting the letters from white and dark aqua cardstock and the leafy stems and blooms from silver and dark aqua cardstock.  After adhering the “hugs” to the card front with liquid glue, the small sentiment was popped up in the lower right corner with foam adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed this look at the July 2020 Large Die of the Month kit and thanks so much for stopping by today.  I’ll be back with inspiration for one more July club kit soon!
