I loved so many of the club kits this month that I wanted to have another go at a couple of them and created two fun celebration cards. The first uses that adorable biplane from this month’s Small Die of the Month along with the gorgeous 3D Embossing Folder of the Month. And with the second, I turned the Stitching Die of the Month into a shaker card front and added some gift boxes from my new collection, the Country Road Collection by Annie Williams.
CONGRATULATIONS BANNER PLANE CARD
My son is finishing up first grade in a few weeks and has been a little sad that there’s no big “graduation” show for him this year like he had last year in kindergarten…and to top if off, his sister has her preschool graduation next week! I decided to make him a cute congratulations card to cheer him up using this month’s Small Die of the Month because he loves planes and picked some bold primary colors to assemble the biplane. Then I manipulated one of my congratulations sentiment stamps to stamp it curved inside of the banner die-cut in blue ink (the We Dance Sentiments Stamp Set is now discontinued, but any long, skinny sentiment stamp will likely work).
I wanted the balloons and banners background to resemble a cloud-filled sky, so I blended some Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink onto the top two-thirds of a piece of Glacier Cardstock, embossed the panel with the 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, and then lightly rubbed white pigment ink over the raised design to bring it out more and create my fluffy clouds. A few Crystal Mix Gems finish off this simple and fun card.
HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY SHAKER CARD
Next, I thought this month’s Stitching Die of the Month would work great as a shaker card front, so I cut it five times from white cardstock and adhered four of the layers directly to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with liquid glue. After filling the open balloon shapes with some of the Sweet Sprinkles Embellishments, I adhered some acetate over the windows and added the last die-cut card front panel on top. I also stamped a pretty sentiment (from another discontinued stamp set, “Many Birthdays”…I’m just batting a thousand today, huh? 🤪) in the top corner.
I added a little Squeezed Lemonade and Twisted Citron Distress Ink to two of the solid balloons and adhered them to the card front with foam adhesive. Then I assembled a couple of cute gift boxes from the Seasonal Decor Die Set and added them beneath the balloons. I love how soft and pretty this card turned out!
