Spellbinders October 2021 Club Kits

Happy first day of October friends!  It’s reveal day for the October Club Kits from Spellbinders and I think you are going to love all of the beautiful and versatile designs this month.  Today I’m sharing four cards for all different occasions made with the Large Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, Glimmer Kit of the Month, and Clear Stamp of the Month Kits, but I’ll be back very soon to show you the remaining kits too!

SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH KIT

This month’s Small Die of the Month Kit, “Holiday Haul“, is an adorable set of fourteen dies that cut a layered pickup truck as well as cargo for several different occasions.  I couldn’t resist creating a bright and fun autumn card with mine, adding a big sweet sentiment made using the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kit.

After cutting the truck body out of Lagoon Cardstock, I stamped a tiny greeting from the Clear Stamp of the Month Kit onto the door in Versamark Ink, added white embossing powder, and melted it with my heat tool.  Then I cut the rest  of the truck and the pumpkin out of Teal Topaz, Persimmon, Mirror Silver, and Rainforest Cardstock and assembled it with liquid glue and foam adhesive.  The sentiment was stamped in matching teal ink onto white cardstock and cut out with one of the coordinating dies.

To create a fun autumn background for my truck, I first embossed a piece of Portobello Cardstock with the Sweater Weather Embossing Folder before adding it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.  Then I die cut white cardstock with the Essential Labels Die Set and inked the top and bottom with Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron, and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks.

GLIMMER KIT OF THE MONTH

This month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month, “Glimmering Autumn Woods“, is a stunning set of six foil plates and nine dies designed to create the most beautiful arrangement of fall icons.  There are so many ways to use these gorgeous foiled images, but I added mine to a simple wreath and inked background for an easy thank you card.

I applied Copper Hot Foil to white cardstock using the foil plates in the kit and my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine (note: the pumpkin is from an old Glimmer Kit of the Month and I ended up not using it on this card).  Then I colored the images in with Tombow ABT Pro Markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies.

To create the background, I applied the same Copper Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Geometric Floral Glimmer Plate Set and then blended Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold, and Vintage Photo Distress Inks over it with a blending brush.  The sentiment is included in the kit as well.

After adding my background to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive, I arranged the foiled images around one side of the wreath form.  I decided to add a few die-cut florals cut with the kit to fill out my wreath and adhere it all down with both liquid glue and foam adhesive for tons of dimension.

LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH

This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Santa’s Fireplace“, is a massive set of 27 dies designed to cut an ornate fireplace scene with a kinetic element…Santa’s dangling legs shake back and forth!  I loved this die set and really wanted to have fun with the scene, so I created a 5″ x 7″ card where I added a Christmas tree from one of the recent holiday releases and let Santa come down a chimney that was currently in use.

After diecutting all of the beautifully detailed pieces from the kit, I assembled them with liquid glue and began piecing together my scene.  Since the log was still burning in this fireplace, I added a little Black Soot Distress Ink to Santa’s legs and bum before adhering him up the chimney (I couldn’t think of a better reason that his legs would be shaking back and forth!).  The kit comes with several sentiments, but I felt “Warm Wishes” was the most fitting here.  🙂

To complete the scene, I added some patterned paper from my stash that looked like Christmas-y wallpaper to a top-folding 5″ x 7″ white card base and a strip of kraft woodgrain cardstock to mimic a wood floor.  Then I cut Rainforest, Fern, and Mirror Gold Cardstock using the O Christmas Tree Die Set and adhered my matching Christmas tree next to the fireplace to await Santa’s gifts (I hope he leaves some!).

CLEAR STAMP & DIE OF THE MONTH KIT

This month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, “Sending You“, includes 24 sentiment stamps (three large and twenty-one small strip-like sentiments) perfect for tons of occasions.  If you subscribe to the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kit, you’ll also get three dies designed to cut out the larger sentiment stamps.  I used some of the sentiments from the kit along with some bright florals for a pretty birthday card.

I started by embossing Portobello Cardstock with the Scallops Embossing Folder and adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive.  Then I cut tons of leaves and flowers out of Beeswax, Persimmon, Dahlia, Wild Berry, Rainforest, Fern, and Mirror Silver Cardstock using the Simply Perfect Layered Blooms Dies and adhered them to the center of the card front with liquid glue and foam adhesive.

The sentiments were stamped in bright pink ink onto white cardstock and cut out with the coordinating dies before adding them on top of the floral arrangement with foam adhesive.  To finish off the card, I added Crystal Mix Gems to the flower centers for a bit of sparkle.
