Hi friends! I’m so excited to share another new collection with you today from Spellbinders – The Right Words by Becca Feeken. If you’re always looking for the perfect sentiment and love beautiful and ornate die-cut designs to go with it, then this collection is definitely for you! I thought the sentiment and florals from the My Sweet Friend Die Set were gorgeous, so I used it to create this bright and pretty card.
I started by trimming a piece of Cosmic Sky Cardstock to 4.75″ x 6.75″ and embossing it with one of the new 3D Embossing Folders – the Tile Mosaic 3D Embossing Folder. After matting it with Mirror Gold Cardstock, I adhere the background to a top-folding A7-sized white card base.
Then I cut Peridot, Waterfall, and Pink Sand Cardstock using the floral dies from the My Sweet Friend Die Set. I added a little shading to the back layer of the flowers with Peacock Feathers and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink and a sponge dauber before adhering them together with liquid glue.
I cut the sentiment from the same die set out of white and Mirror Gold Cardstock and inked the large “sweet” word through the die using some Spun Sugar Distress Ink for a bit of subtle color in the open areas. Then I adhered the white and gold layers together with liquid glue, offset a bit for a gold shadow, and added all of the elements to the card front with liquid glue and foam adhesive. A couple of Gold Mix Gems were added to embellish flower centers.
