Hello again friends! Today I’m excited to share the new Winter Garden Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. With gorgeous new florals, fun winter “container” designs, and even a beautiful Glimmer plate, this collection has something for both the flower-shaping fans as well as traditional die-cutting enthusiasts. I created two pretty holiday cards with some of the products in the collection here but check out the sneak peek below to see a few more ways to use these unique designs!
CHRISTMAS CLOCHE CARD
I thought the beautiful Flourished Tree design in the collection would look perfect in a Christmas cloche decorated with pretty winter florals. I started by applying Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Flourished Tree Glimmer Plate and cutting it out with one of the dies from the Essential Arches Die Set. Then I matted the foiled design with Mirror Gold Cardstock before popping it up on top of a 5″ x 7″ white card base covered with some pretty patterned paper from my stash (Simple Stories Simple Vintage Rustic Christmas Paper Pad – discontinued).
The flowers and greenery were created using the Jasmine Die Set, Poinsettia Die Set, and Helleborus Die Set…I cut the designs out of Susan’s Garden Specialty Cardstock, colored them with Copic markers, and shaped them with the Ultimate Tool Kit. To finish the card off, I added a pretty sentiment foiled in gold using the Merry Glimmer Sentiments Plate Set.
WINTER ICE SKATE BOUQUET
And how cool is this dimensional ice skate with real laces? I loved it so much I’ve created two cards with it already! I started by cutting Onyx, Mirror Silver, and patterned cardstock (Carta Bella Farmhouse Christmas) with the Ice Skate Die Set, assembled it with liquid glue, and laced it up with some silver baker’s twine. After adding a bit of fur trim to the top, I popped it up on top of a 5″ x 7″ white card base with a cool 3D embossed background (Silver Fox Cardstock embossed with the Beveled Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder).
Next, I added some lifelike florals to the top. These were created by cutting Susan’s Garden Specialty Cardstock with the Jasmine Die Set, Winter Evergreen Foliage Die Set, and the Pine Cone and Evergreen Bough Die Set, coloring with Copic markers, and shaping with the Ultimate Tool Kit. After adhering the bouquet down with hot glue, I added a sentiment stamped in Morning Mist Versafine Clair Ink using the Winter Garden Sentiments Stamp Set.
And here are three more projects I made with this fun collection. The first was created with the fun Letterbox Die Set…I added some mounds of snow and a swag of Winter Evergreen Foliage for a pretty Christmas scene. Next, I created a different version of the Flourished Tree Glimmer card by adding a bouquet of Helleborus, Jasmine, and Winter Evergreen Foliage. And lastly, I used soft tones and a large, pretty Helleborus bloom to create a warmer version of this Christmas card using that fun Ice Skate Die Set.
