Happy Monday friends! In honor of the first day of spring, I’m excited to share the new Victorian Garden Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. The beautiful new flower and container designs in this collection are perfect for sending bright bouquets of all kinds to celebrate the new season or at any time of year! I used a couple of the newest floral and foliage dies to create this pretty springtime bouquet, but be sure to check out the additional samples using the other new designs below.
I started by cutting Susan’s Garden Specialty Cardstock using the Southern Magnolia, Victorian Garden Foliage, Helleborus, and Mason Jar & Lavender Die Sets before shaping the petals and leaves with the leaf tool and ball stylus from the Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit. I added color to the foliage pieces with Copic markers and the tiny lavender florets were cut from Purple Mist Cardstock and dotted with a darker purple Copic marker for dimension. Flower centers for the magnolia and helleborus were dipped in yellow pollen and yellow prills to make them a little more realistic.
The leaves for the magnolia were cut from Fern Cardstock, inked with Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink, and shaped before adding them to the bouquet. I always like to use smooth cardstock for a few of the leaves in my larger bouquets to add a little variation in textures. I thought the beautiful hello sentiment from the Wonderful Script Sentiments Die Set was perfect for this elegant card.
To create the background, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4.75″ x 6.75″, blended Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina Distress Ink up from the bottom, and embossed the panel using the Tile Reflection 3D Embossing Folder. After matting it with some Mirror Gold Cardstock, I adhered it a top-folding A7-sized white card base and added my bouquet and sentiment on top with hot glue and foam adhesive. A few Crystal Mix Gems finish off this pretty spring card.
And here are three more projects I created with this gorgeous collection! The first card has a similar bouquet created with the Southern Magnolia, Mason Jar & Lavender, and Victorian Garden Foliage Die Set. This time I placed them in a pretty tea cup made with the new Teacup & Saucer Die Set and added it to a background embossed with the Circle Illusion 3D Embossing Folder with a sentiment from the We Dance Glimmer Plate Set. The bright slimline card was created with the Mason Jar & Lavender Die Set with a few sprigs from the Victorian Garden Foliage Die Set placed on top of a background embossed with the Tile Reflection 3D Embossing Folder and finished with a sentiment from the Sealed Glimmer Sentiments Plate Set. Lastly, I created some bright blooms using the Spider Mum and Button Crysanthemum Die Set as well as some sprigs from the Victorian Garden Foliage Die Set and added them to a background foiled with the new Glimmer Ferns Glimmer Plate.
