Happy Sunday friends! I’m excited to be back today to share a couple of projects made with the Showered With Love Collection by Vicky Papaioannou. (Check out the entire January release here!) This collection is full of umbrella and duck themed dies plus some fun background elements and sentiments perfect for cute springtime and everyday cards! I created three pretty umbrella cards with the collection for various occasions.
UMBRELLA BLOOM THANK YOU CARD
The Umbrella Bloom Die Set can be used in so many ways with the large umbrella as a focal point and I wanted to fill it with pretty flowers for this first card. After assembling the umbrella in the set out of Royal Amethyst and Mirror Silver Cardstock, I cut the flowers out using various shades of green, pink, and purple and arranged them inside with a little liquid glue.
To create the background, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″ and blended Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina Distress Ink out from one corner with a blending tool. Then I embossed the panel using the Flower Frenzy 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive. Once the floral umbrella was adhered to the bottom left corner, I added a sentiment foiled in silver (Be Bold Glimmer Sentiments Plate Set) and a couple of Crystal Mix Gems.
RAINING HEARTS HELLO CARD
The large umbrella from the Umbrella Bloom Die Set also fits perfectly within the shower of raindrops or hearts from the Raining Hearts Die Set, so I wanted to try this cute idea next! I trimmed a piece of Wild Berry Cardstock to 4.125″ x 5.375″ and die cut the top using the hearts die from the Raining Hearts Die Set. After matting this panel with some Mirror Gold Cardstock and adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base, I decided to add a puddle of golden hearts in the bottom corners as well (cut with the same die and adhered to the card front with liquid glue).
This time I created a more decorative umbrella using the striped inserts in the Umbrella Bloom Die Set and adding white cardstock. The hello sentiment is one of two that are included in the die set, and I added a secondary love sentiment beneath it foiled in gold using the Everyday Sentiments II Glimmer Plate Set.
SKY CONFETTI UMBRELLA CARD
Lastly, I loved the fun dimensional droplets created by the Raindrops 3D Embossing Folder, so I wanted to see how cheerful of a card I could make with it. I started by trimming a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″ and blended Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, and Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide Ink over the entire piece with a blending tool. After embossing it with the Raindrops 3D Embossing Folder, I lightly rubbed some glitter paste over each drop with my finger for some sparkle.
The smaller umbrella and clouds were created out of bright orange and red cardstock using the Rain Or Shine Die Set. There are fun decorative panels for this umbrella set too, but I just added a few fun polka dots with a white paint pen instead. To finish the card off, I added a beautiful sentiment from the Cute Boots Stamp Set (I LOVE all of the sentiments in this older stamp set and they go so well with this collection!).
